Paint the wall behind your bed as a rich accent wall: beautiful rich burgundy, plum, or deep blue. It will warm the room without taking light out of the room. Another bedroom decorating idea is to use fabrics for the accent wall.

If you measure the width of the wall from edge to edge and buy some PVC covered pipes, you can cover the pipe fabric that is strong enough to keep the fabric gently covered. One color scheme that always seems to work in the bedroom is a cool mint green which, paired with beige, creates a little more than a monochromatic colour, enlivening it with a crisp clean mint green fabric to induce an atmosphere of soft harmony. This creates a stylish look for the master bedroom.

Another shade of green often used in the bedroom is celery green for the walls and a darker shade of green for the fabrics and bedding. Hang ivory or green damask drapes from wooden window posts to finish this look and create a calming peace that is both modern and bright. Other shades that would go with mint or celery green walls would be a Regency pinstripe in a pale pink or alternatively the shade of gray slightly darker than silver but lighter than gunmetal gray. With a silvery-gray shag rug, the effect is bright, clean and just the right color to bring a chic touch to the bedroom.
