Business Office Environment and the “Silent Salesman”: How to Get the Most Out of It All

One of the most important concepts in the design of offices or financial institutions is all that goes into it. This includes the materials, furniture, details, artwork, etc., and all operate individually and in concert as “silent salesmen” for your particular office. Most business people do not understand the importance of this aspect of their business and its’ visual presentation and perception.

Number one: Atmosphere This aspect has to do with the feeling and emotions that are projected to your clients or clients. Much of this emerges in the “discovery phase” of the project. I will ask you all the right questions that will make you and your company think more deeply about cause and effect in relation to your work environment. This process promotes a sense of success no matter what level you are at in your particular genre or within the company itself.

My personal definition of environment is the following:

“It is the intangible element of an interior that touches the heart, soul, mind and emotions; that is visually appealing, intellectually stimulating, emotionally satisfying and totally enriching for the occupants and others.”

Number two: The silent salesman This skin is a true supercharger! If this is done well and applied correctly, the money that goes into all the various elements of an interior design project is put to work or “used” to perform double duty in the form of multiple “salespeople” through the sale”. customers and clients to do business, or continue to do business, with you tapping as many of the five senses as possible.

The concept of “silent salesman” consists of orchestrating all the different elements that make up a good interior design by coming together in a “musical” way to “sell” or “win” the client. Some of those people are potential customers or customers … those who are “sold” by doing business with you and your company. Others are Current customers who continue to do business with you on purpose. You are also “courting” the client or client by masterfully manipulating all the elements that make up a fantastic interior design presentation. It is one of your “gifts” to them, which makes them feel special and appreciated.

This “silent salesman” gets to work from the moment you enter your parking lot, until you open the front door, enter the building, and take a look at the reception area. Your “silent salesperson” should be talking and communicating with your client or client, even while waiting for you to greet him before an assistant takes him to his office.

Whether you know it or not each of the elements in your interior design are making an impression on your client or client every time enter your workplace. The impression can be good or not so good, depending on what is “communicated”.

There’s a great quote that goes something like this: “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” How true!

Number Three: The rich environment This element is extremely important when it comes to financial institutions and high net worth clients using your services. This is related to Ambiance and “The Silent Salesperson”. But, in all honesty, this element of wealth can be applied to any type of interior design.

Almost everyone would prefer a rich environment to any other type of environment. Wealth can be applied to any interior design, from very casual to very elegant. This is accomplished through masterful orchestration of textures. That is why “richness” can be applied to any interior design, across the spectrum of styles. So you can have anything from rustic or casual wealth to elegant wealth.

Summary: It is not just what we see with our eyes looking out, but what others see when they look at us. on our environmental context. Which are its perceptions? To do you want your perceptions to be? This is probably one of the most overlooked and unknown aspects of interior design with regards to architecture and the holistic environmental context. But once these elements are employed by skilled hands and minds that are highly attuned and sensitive to interior design and what it can actually do and provide, it becomes a force to be reckoned with. This is how you distinguish yourself from your competition. This way, you can get a standing ovation from your clients and clients multiple times!
