Detox, Health and Weight Loss – Part 2

So in my last article I started to address the most critical topic, from my point of view, in weight loss, namely detoxification. If we look at obesity as a function of poor diet plus bad environment, then I think that covers most of the bases. That is, when you add all the environmental stressors, along with the quality of the diet, a picture of not only health, but also obesity, should emerge.

Since our food chain is hopelessly compromised, and so is our environment, we are looking for a pragmatic, not thematic, result here. If you try to live a 100% organic and healthy existence in the Alpine Valley, you will go crazy. But what we can do is mitigate the damage and by trying to select the right foods and the right supplements, give our bodies more than a fighting chance.

The first suggestion I made in my last article was to have your mouth checked for mercury and other heavy metals. That’s just my recipe. I would highly recommend that a “mercury conscious” dentist remove all mercury fillings and toxic crowns. Mercury is one of the most toxic substances known to man, and we really don’t want it in our bodies. Dentists may tell you otherwise, but understand that mercury and other highly toxic heavy metals leach out of fillings and crowns and into your bloodstream. Once there, they can cause a world of pain. I also understand that candida can feed on mercury, creating mercury methylate, an even more dangerous form of mercury. If you need further corroboration, do a Google search.

Once you have eliminated this major source of contamination, the next step is to chelate your body. Chelation is the business of cleaning out all the heavy metals. Well, I’ll tell you how I did chelation. I tried Chlorella, along with fresh herbs, coriander in particular, and used an infrared sauna. These are respectable treatments, and there are others besides. But the product that really worked the best for me was Phytoremedium, also known as Z-Natural. I can’t link in this text, so I’ll just push it to a site called say yes to health, which I’m not affiliated with, I hasten to add.

Phytoremedium is a zeolite derivative and cleanses the bloodstream of heavy metals and other toxins. I had no contraindications, I just felt so much better after taking this for a few weeks. Things like Chlorella have two drawbacks. One is that unless you get very high quality Chlorella you will also get contaminants, and the other is that it only cleanses the stomach. Getting into the bloodstream and cleansing the blood of toxins is much more complicated, but Phyto does it.
