soccer player position

If we talk about playing football, I think most of us want to be a striker or striker, it is because we think that striker is the best position in the game and the others just to support the striker. And we also think that the striker is a hero for the team because he scores and ultimately wins the game. Sometimes ordinary people say that he wins only because of the forwards or the forwards. But actually, your assumption is wrong, because the most important thing in the game of soccer is teamwork. Every player in the game must be disciplined and do his duty according to his position. Without it, the game will be bad and the team will not win the game.

In soccer game, we basically know 4 player positions; Goalkeeper (GK), Defense (DF), Midfielder (MF) and Forward or Forward (FW). In each position, they have their main duty in a game. So, what are really the characteristics of each of them? Ok, let’s check it out.

The first position is a Goalkeeper. The goalkeeper is a position that has the main task of protecting the goal post from the opponent’s attack. This position is actually placed at the back of the position of the others. So, he simply stands under the goal post and blocks the ball from reaching the goal. The characteristic of this position is that the goalkeeper can touch the ball with his hand.

The second position is Defender or we usually call it Behind. Someone in this position has the main task of protecting their area from the opponent’s attack. The defender position is in front of the goalkeeper. Usually in a game the defender splits in two; Center Back (CB) and Lateral Back (SB). The central defender is a player who stands in the middle of the defense area and in front of the goalkeeper. This type of position has the most responsibility in the team after the goalkeeper. So the Full-back is a player who plays on the side of the defense area. Sometimes this type of stance is useful for attacking.

The next position is Midfielder. I think this is the most flexible position in the party. Because someone in this position can handle everything, both attacking and defending. Midfielders play in the center of the field. And also, midfielder is a position that is very important in a team. Because they can make the defender connect with the forwards. It means that the midfielders are the playmakers in the game. Actually, in the actual game, the midfielder is divided into 4 positions; Central Midfielder (CMF), Defending Midfielder (DMF), Attacking Midfielder (AMF) and Wing Midfielder. CMF tends to make the nice move by giving passes to other teammates. Whereas DMF tends to help the defender more on defense. It means that this type of player is more defensive. So an AMF is the opposite of DMF. It means that this player is more offensive. And the last one is SMF, this player can both defend and attack on the side of the field. This type of player is often called a Winger.

And the fourth position in the game of soccer is a striker or forward player. This player has the main task of scoring points by driving the ball to the goal post. In this position, the player must have good instincts and can do good positioning. And the striker should be able to maximize the chance to score, because in the real game, the opposing player always keeps the striker.

Knowing the characteristics of soccer players, we can conclude that each position has its own duty and function in the soccer game. It means the striker who cannot lead the team to victory without the support of his teammate. Also, the team cannot win the game without the participation of the forwards. So we can say that all types of position in the game are important and each of them cannot be alone, it means that the most important thing is teamwork. Without that, I think it’s hard to get to victory.
