Unique and fun things to do in Anaheim, California

In the early days, Anaheim was a rural community of not too many. Originally settled by a handful of German immigrants, the name translates to “Home in the Valley.” Conditions here were perfect for growing fruit and vegetables and the area was thriving. Then a guy named Walt Disney came along and decided to see if he could take advantage of the beautiful terrain and weather in another way. It did, and since then, Anaheim has been known for its association with Disney. Today, Anaheim is truly a popular destination for families and those seeking high thrills. Approximately 43 million visitors visit the area annually. Not that I wanted to dissuade people from enjoying all things Disney. I want to point out other things to do that are also fun in case you have some extra time while in town.

Anaheim Ice

A good cheap alternative to some of the other attractions in the area. Anaheim Ice is a great place to spend an afternoon with the family in spectacular surroundings. The Frank Gehry-designed Olympic skating rink is reason enough to check it out. With a full list of activities like amateur hockey leagues, figure skating, and curling, the rink isn’t always available for public skating. So it would be wise to check in advance. Generally, you will find the track available to the public from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. There are several more hours available, but the hours vary. Ticket prices range from $ 5 to $ 9 depending on age, and skate rental is only $ 3. With these prices and the exceptional design, you’ll find Anaheim Ice worth the trip.

Knott’s Berry Farm / Soak City Water Park

Disclaimer. In fact, I grouped two attractions together to make room for others. That does not mean diminishing the value of any of the parks. Let us begin. Knott’s Berry Farm is a great alternative to high prices and long lines at Disney. The attractions are suitable for both children and adults. Food is steps away from other parks in the country. The variety of activities is perfect for all ages and types of travelers, including attractions, shows, shopping, and dining. Soak City is steps away from Knott’s Berry Farm and is the perfect stop on your trip to Anaheim if you want to enjoy water rides. Great place for a hot day. Soak City also offers a variety of water-related options for all ages. Roller coasters or water slides. It’s up to you. Or you can always do both. Parking for each park costs around $ 12. Knott’s Berry Farm will cost you around $ 37 (adult admission) if you get your tickets online and Soak City will cost around $ 27 online.

Yorba Regional Park

A great way to save money and have some peace. The park offers approximately three miles of scenic landscape for hiking, jogging, or biking. You can rent bicycles and boats if you wish. Have a picnic or play volleyball and more. Parking is free near the softball fields or just a few dollars if you can’t find them. Even if you are in the suburbs you will find many signs of nature. Do your pockets and your soul a favor. Pass through Yorba Park.

Anaheim Garden Walk

If you are looking for a place to shop, eat, and enjoy the nightlife, look no further. Elegant and casual restaurants abound for your gastronomic delight. Events that you may run into regularly occur on your visit. The Garden Walk is fully open from 11 am to 9 pm daily with extended hours for restaurants and other entertainment venues. Conveniently located blocks from the convention center and the Disneyland resorts. Be in the mix while you’re out of the fray.

Flightdeck Air Combat Center

Just so you know. This could be one of the best places to visit! This is as real as it seems without risking lives. The flight simulators are organized so that you can get several different flight experiences. You can jump into the cockpit of a fighter plane and learn a wide range of skills. Advance to a Viper 1 certification after you’ve shown you have the right things. If friendly skies are what you want, try the 737 flight simulator. This is the only place of its kind. As you can imagine, the experience is not cheap. Prices start at around $ 70. I assure you, it’s a great value. Be sure to call ahead to schedule an appointment. The walk-ins will be grounded. The staff and facilities are excellent here and will ensure you have a memorable experience. Fly for the ride of your life.

K1 speed

Need for speed? Then look no further than Anaheim’s K1 Speed Go Kart race track. With speeds close to 50 mph in twists and turns, it’s sure to get the adrenaline pumping. A clean environment and friendly staff complete a great adventure. Challenge your family or friends to the checkered flag over and over again. Adults can spend $ 20 for a 14-lap race. Or you can run three times for $ 50. Prices are lower for youth. With few exceptions, the race track is open every day except Thanksgiving, which opens no later than noon and closes before 10 p.m. Except Sundays (10am to 7pm) Great value for money and fun for family or a few friends. K1 is a great alternative to some of the more expensive tours in Anaheim.

Adventure city

The perfect place to go if you have little ones. Adventure City is not as extensive or expensive as most of the other parks in the area. This is good for your pocket and your nerves. Free parking and $ 15 for admission is perfect for those on a budget. Please note that this is intended for younger children. The teenager will not be amused. The food options are best suited for connoisseurs of hot dogs and pizzas. Healthy and clean standards will ensure your kids don’t come back from the park with new bad words to try.
