Setting up a Speedball field

If you can’t go to a commercial speedball field where you have a field set up for you, you can always consider setting your own. You can configure the field however you want, but these are the common characteristics of most speedball fields.

A speedball field is usually a rectangle, at least 50 yards long and 30 yards wide. You may want to adjust the size of your field based on the number of people who are playing. The terrain must be flat and there must be strategic bunkers scattered throughout the field.

Step 1: Choose a location

You want your speedball field to be set up in an open flat location. You don’t want the ground to have holes in it or anything that someone could get hurt on. You also want the field to be far enough away from other houses, cars, roads, and other people. And when possible, try to choose a location where you can leave the course settings, so you can play as often as you like.

Step 2: Make your bunkers

Bunkers are the most important part of the speedball game. You can use any type of material or any type of design, as long as the bunker is strong enough so that it does not fall over. Bunkers must be heavy enough so that they cannot move during play. You can use any material or you can buy professionally made inflatable bunkers that you can fix to the ground. If you’re making your own, get creative and use whatever you can find: plywood, wooden pallets, old appliances, and tires. These are all the things you can stack to make a bunker.

Step 3: Set up your bunkers

You want to have a bunker located in each team’s starting position, but other than that, the location of the bunker is entirely up to you. You don’t want your field to be too cluttered with bunkers, and you should try to space them evenly across the field. Leave enough room to run and have enough room for people to get a good shot.

Your speedball field can be whatever you want it to be. You can be as creative as you can if you have an original idea; feel free to use it in your plan. And don’t forget to change the field from time to time. Keep it fun and cool.
