ATV Cectek Quadrift 500cc EFI – ATV

Fun on 4 wheels?

When I first saw this Quad Bike in early 2009 I thought “Oh my gosh, that’s another one of those Sinclair episodes!”

How wrong was I?

Cectek has gone completely crazy developing something that the market was working on, but with some love and attention on features that other manufacturers try and charge you more for. While they were very careful with what they did, there was no compromise on quality and production.

Designed with a little extra fun in mind, the Cectek Quadrift 500 EFi has stepped very close to the mark and borders on something else. They have not only filled a void in the quad market but have created another one, which once you have taken the time to ride one you will fully understand what I mean.

With an extremely low center of gravity, they’ve thrown in the cards and said, “Do you want to have fun?”

I personally think this is something we could ALL do with in our lives to take the gloom out of modern day political torture and news that is suitable for people who have nothing better to do.

What these guys have done is take something that was or has been very bland for some time and add two extra cubes of sugar to sweeten it up. The extra-low center of gravity makes this bike handle like it’s on rails, and with the perforated-gasket 500cc EFi power plant, you’ll light up the blue tactile paper and watch this rocket explode.

The return of a 30+ childhood, perhaps? And it doesn’t stop there!

Talk about being considerate, (or has this marketing gone wild) they’ve also included a goosebumps lift experience called “Drifting Transmission”. Now you MUST have the drift? (Forgiveness…)

Switch from the limited-slip diff to drift mode and you’ve got that fully locked-up, running rear end just like Roger Clark’s Ford Escort Mk1 in the 1970s. This feature alone will leave you pushing those eyes back into their sockets, leaving you with bags. of time to enjoy the experience and incredible control.

And if that’s not enough, they refuse to charge you for things like alloys and digital dash (unlike some manufacturers you might mention). This is just a snippet of what you can expect:

  • Framework – Something they call “UCS”, which stands for Ultra Secure Chassis
  • Suspension – Fully independent suspension with adjustable shock absorbers
  • Wheel – Stock alloys with low profile tires
  • Brakes – Dual 250mm front and rear brake discs
  • Instruments – LCD racing effect dials offering a multi-function display

And when I say multi-function, there’s more to playing than your average game console!

Is this fad completely gone, or is it clever design and marketing?

I personally think it’s a nice mix of both with a touch of extra punch in the design department. There is one thing I guarantee (other than the obvious fun that is), give the industry 6-12 months and I will stand by these words: everyone will do something more or less the same but more expensive.

As for Cetek (gold see tek as they like to be known) already have the next stage of this machine in the design workshop. As for you, you’ll have a hard time getting one in the spring of next year due to high demand, so don’t wait for the sale, because there won’t be one!
