Hero Passion XPro – For passionate cyclists

Hero MotoCorp is India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturing company. Almost half of the low capacity bikes sold every month in India are Hero bikes. The Passion, a 110cc bike, was originally released in 2001. Modified Passion Plus and Passion Pro versions followed in 2003 and 2008 respectively. The Passion XPro was released in November 2012.

The Passion Pro has been facelifted to XPro with new graphic designs, a contoured fuel tank, MFR trapezoidal headlights, and a VLRA MF sealed battery. The Hero Passion XPro comes in 2-spoke drum brake 2-alloy wheel variants with auto/kick start options and a disc option variant with auto start option. Prices range from Rs 50,400 to Rs 52,300 ex-showrooms. The XPro comes in Sport Red, Vibrant Blue, Leaf Green, Force Silver, Black with Green, Black with Sport Red, Black with Frost Blue, and Electric Yellow.

The Passion XPro has a combo console with an analog speedometer, a digital tachometer, 2 digital trip meters, a digital fuel gauge, and a low fuel indication. The battery is 12V, 3Ah, type MF. The headlights are 35w/35w MFR, the tail/brake lights are 5/21w MFR, and the 4 turn signals are 10w MFR.

The Passion XPro is powered by a 109cc, 8PS, 9NM torque, air-cooled single-cylinder engine with side-draught variable venturi carburettor and single-spark transistor ignition system. The 4-speed constant-mesh transmission has a wet-type multi-plate clutch and chain drive. The Passion XPro has kilometers of 70 kmpl. The bike accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 7 seconds and has a top speed of 100 km/h.

The chassis is of the tubular diamond type with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and rectangular swingarm with 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The tires are of the type 80/100×18-47P at the front and 90/90×18-51P at the rear. Brakes are 240mm disc at the front and 130mm drum at the rear for drum type variants and 130mm petal disc at the front and 130mm solid disc at the rear for variants disc type.

The dimensions of the Passion XPro are 2005mm in length, 785mm in seat height, 1265mm in wheelbase and 170mm in ground clearance. The motorcycle with a weight of 113 to 116 kg has a fuel tank of 9.5 (2.1 reserve) liter capacity.

Attractive bodywork, a high-output engine, and disc brake options are the Passion XPro’s plus points. Tubeless tires are missing on the spoked wheel options. Competition for the Passion XPro comes from bikes like the Bajaj Discover 100T and the Honda Dream Yuga.
