Taxidermy Mount Care How To Make Your Mounts Look Their Best

He’s spent the summer going through his trail camera downloads and is excited to see some big trophies in his hunting area. So you prepare yourself through the late summer and into the fall by making sure your aim and that all your equipment is working properly.

After double-checking all your gear, you wait for dawn to light up the sky, it slowly starts to get brighter, and you hear a noise right in front of you.

You shoot without breathing, aim carefully and pull the trigger. Your trophy is down and you have another wonderful season under your belt.

Without proper care of your taxidermy mount, you may be causing your mount to disappear faster than you think. Through carelessness or perhaps too much care, the life of your mount could be shortened, not lengthened.

You have worked hard to have your trophy destroyed by neglect, insects, and dirt.

One thing that has caught my eye is dirt in a clean trophy room.

But I can find places in those rooms that are feeding grounds for harmful insects.

These areas are neglected by most homeowners and housekeepers, cleaners, and maids.

This place might have been neglected since the house was built, or maybe yours will be cleaned with a deep spring cleaning.

Take out the vacuum and suck up these areas and then clean them.

The accumulation of dead things is a snack bar for the very critters that will eat and destroy your taxidermy mounts.
