Daytona is the place to be

Daytona, the “Beach Capital of the World”, is a tourist and vacation destination considered one of the most famous. Its white sand beaches stretch for 23 kilometers. Since the early 1900s, when cars first raced on the beach, Daytona was everyone’s favorite place. It was part of history when Sir Malcolm Campbell drove the world famous “Blue Bird” here in 1935.

Today, driving on the hard sands of Daytona Beach Shores is only allowed 18 miles on the beach during the day and speeds are only set at 10 miles per hour. Five miles of beach is now reserved for visitors and vacationers who do not wish to share the beach with cars. More than a popular place for car racing, here you can experience many other outdoor activities like swimming, frisbee, kite flying, surfing, volleyball, tube riding, car riding, biking, skimboarding, fishing and much more. Whatever aquatic adventure you’re looking for, you can find it here in Daytona.

For family getaways, spring breakers, bikers, and racing enthusiasts, this place is the best choice. Here, you can experience a great vacation. The area is also a convenient location, offering easy access to other famous destinations such as Walt Disney World, Sea World, Epcot Center, Church Street Station, MGM Studios, Universal Studios, and the historic St. Augustine and Kennedy Space Center. All of these attractions are just an hour from Daytona, so there’s no way you can’t maximize your vacation.

Various types of accommodation are offered in Daytona and these include apartments, bed & breakfasts, hotels, motels, condominiums, rental houses, and timeshares. For those who just want to enjoy the surroundings and the cool atmosphere, walking along the beach can be very relaxing. Or, you can head to the place’s great selection of exquisite seafood restaurants, fine dining and bars in or near Ormond Beach. There is much to do in this beautiful paradise.

Tagged as the center of college spring break partying and the hangout for leather-clad bikers, Daytona Beach is often perceived as an intimidating destination. Put these preconceived impressions aside, as the place has already changed its image and this is evident in the cleanup and multi-million dollar renovations of its beachfront area. This area includes the town of Ocean Walk and other charming communities such as Port Orange. Upscale hotels, shops and restaurants are booming here and each boasts its own Caribbean-themed water park. In addition, several child-oriented museums and theme parks can be found here. These are the ones that attract the most families in the area. A hot spot for auto racing enthusiasts, Daytona International Speedway is home to the world famous NASCAR.

Along with this, the venue also hosts several elite car racing events like Daytona 500, Pepsi 400, and others. With all the best amenities, activities, and outdoor adventures to be experienced in Daytona, it’s no wonder it’s a favorite spot for tourists and vacationers.
