You’ve most likely seen BreathRX by browsing the dental section of your local pharmacy. Personally, I had been wondering about it for a while, until one day I was curious to see how effective it would actually be.
The price tag originally put me off as it’s a few bucks more than Listerine or Scope, but I finally thought it was worth a try. There’s some pretty tough tech at work in this product, and I’m about to explain what does what here.
The active ingredient within BreathRX is Zytex. This is a proprietary ingredient consisting of some antibacterial oils (which BreathRX claims effectively kill bad breath bacteria) and zinc, which is a known breath neutralizer.

However, anyone looking for short-term protection may find mints or gum helpful, as they do much more than typical over-the-counter air fresheners.
I have been using BreathRX products myself for over a year now, and although I have only used toothpaste and mouthwash, all I can say is that I continue to buy these products and not others. While they cost me a few extra bucks a month, the fact that I never have to worry about bad breath is worth the money spent. These really get the job done like no other.
